STANDING ORDER

To

All Circles Inspector of Excise,

Subject: The working of a brewery by brewers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Information Technology Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brewery by brewers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every brewer carrying on the working of a brewery shall make an application in Form A to the Licensing Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that label is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Punjab.
