OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village is to be regulated under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a village carrying on the construction of a building in a village shall make an application in Form 4 to the District Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the construction of a building in a village is undertaken, and the District Panchayat shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Kerala.
