STANDING ORDER

All Plant Protection Officers,

Subject: The cultivation of land by farmers under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1987), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land by farmers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every farmer carrying on the cultivation of land shall make an application in Form H to the Government of Tamil Nadu within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Plant Protection Officer shall ensure that sample is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Tamil Nadu within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
