OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village is to be regulated under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a rice mill in a village carrying on the running of a rice mill in a village shall make an application in Form 7 to the Block Development Officer within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a rice mill in a village is undertaken, and the Block Development Officer shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala.
