STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Environment Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 14 to the Tahsildar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Odisha.
