STANDING ORDER
To
All Circles Inspector of Excise,
Subject: The transport of excisable articles by transporters under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of excisable articles by transporters.
2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter carrying on the transport of excisable articles shall make an application in Form D to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that excise seal is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within twenty-one days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Punjab.
