OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The testing of motor vehicles for fitness by operators of a testing station under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the testing of motor vehicles for fitness by operators of a testing station is to be regulated under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a testing station carrying on the testing of motor vehicles for fitness shall make an application in Form 20 to the Government of Kerala within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the testing of motor vehicles for fitness is undertaken, and the Government of Kerala shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala.
