STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Development Officers,

Subject: The holding of a fair by licensees of a fair under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a fair by licensees of a fair.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fair carrying on the holding of a fair shall make an application in Form 7 to the Block Development Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Panchayat Development Officer shall ensure that tax receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of West Bengal.
