OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The transport of hazardous chemicals by transporters of hazardous chemicals under the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the transport of hazardous chemicals by transporters of hazardous chemicals is to be regulated under the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter of hazardous chemicals carrying on the transport of hazardous chemicals shall make an application in Form F to the Civil Defence Controller within one day, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the transport of hazardous chemicals is undertaken, and the Civil Defence Controller shall dispose of it within one day of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Gujarat.
