OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well is to be regulated under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tube well carrying on the sinking of a tube well shall make an application in Form B to the Board within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sinking of a tube well is undertaken, and the Board shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal.
