STANDING ORDER

All Licensing Officers,

Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1976), the Labour Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form B to the Development Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Licensing Officer shall ensure that drain is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Development Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Gujarat.
