STANDING ORDER
To
All Insurance Medical Officers,
Subject: The claiming of dependants' benefit by dependants of a deceased worker under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the claiming of dependants' benefit by dependants of a deceased worker.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dependant of a deceased worker carrying on the claiming of dependants' benefit shall make an application in Form 12 to the Regional Board within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Insurance Medical Officer shall ensure that contribution card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Regional Board within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala.
