STANDING ORDER
To
All Inspectors,
Subject: The employment of building workers by employers of building workers under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962 (Karnataka Act 8 of 1962), the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the employment of building workers by employers of building workers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of building workers carrying on the employment of building workers shall make an application in Form II to the appropriate Government within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Inspector shall ensure that register of wages is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the appropriate Government within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
