STANDING ORDER

To

All Maintenance Officers,

Subject: The running of an old age home by keepers of an old age home under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997 (Karnataka Act 33 of 1997), the Information Technology Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of an old age home by keepers of an old age home.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of an old age home carrying on the running of an old age home shall make an application in Form IV to the Registrar of Marriages within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Maintenance Officer shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Marriages within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Karnataka.
