OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The drawing of water from a river by riparian owners under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Water Resources Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the manner in which the drawing of water from a river by riparian owners is to be regulated under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998.

2. The matter has been examined. Every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall make an application in Form A to the Ground Water Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the drawing of water from a river is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
