OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Dealing in antiquities by dealers in antiquities under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which dealing in antiquities by dealers in antiquities is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in antiquities carrying on dealing in antiquities shall make an application in Form VI to the Hotel Classification Committee within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which dealing in antiquities is undertaken, and the Hotel Classification Committee shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra.
