STANDING ORDER
To
All Registrars of Inland Vessels,
Subject: The working of a port by port authorities under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Excise Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a port by port authorities.
2. The matter has been examined. Every port authority carrying on the working of a port shall make an application in Form 4 to the Inland Waterways Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Registrar of Inland Vessels shall ensure that vessel is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Inland Waterways Authority within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Gujarat.
