OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building under the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building is to be regulated under the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a high-rise building carrying on the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building shall make an application in Form A to the State Executive Committee within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building is undertaken, and the State Executive Committee shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Kerala.
