STANDING ORDER

To

All District Collectors,

Subject: The safety of a school building by owners of a school building under the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962 (Kerala Act 20 of 1962), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the safety of a school building by owners of a school building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a school building carrying on the safety of a school building shall make an application in Form H to the Civil Defence Controller within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The District Collector shall ensure that incident report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Civil Defence Controller within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala.
