STANDING ORDER

To

All Extension Officers,

Subject: The operation of a rural water supply scheme by operators of a rural water supply scheme under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a rural water supply scheme by operators of a rural water supply scheme.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a rural water supply scheme carrying on the operation of a rural water supply scheme shall make an application in Form 4 to the Director of Panchayats within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Extension Officer shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Panchayats within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal.
