STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Agriculture Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 1 to the Tahsildar within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that survey number is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of West Bengal.
