STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
