STANDING ORDER
To
All Circle Officers,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Water Resources Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 5 to the State Government within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that survey number is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Punjab.
