OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand on the manner in which the performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests is to be regulated under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024.
2. The matter has been examined. Every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall make an application in Form IV to the Registrar General within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the performance of marriage ceremonies is undertaken, and the Registrar General shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
