OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The manufacture of packaged drinking water by manufacturers of packaged drinking water under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the manufacture of packaged drinking water by manufacturers of packaged drinking water is to be regulated under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of packaged drinking water carrying on the manufacture of packaged drinking water shall make an application in Form E to the Commissioner of Food Safety within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the manufacture of packaged drinking water is undertaken, and the Commissioner of Food Safety shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka.
