STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Marriages,

Subject: The placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Information Technology Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies.

2. The matter has been examined. Every adoption agency carrying on the placement of children for adoption shall make an application in Form VII to the District Registrar within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of Marriages shall ensure that register of deaths is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Registrar within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
