OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The administration of the estate of a deceased person by executors of a will under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttarakhand on the manner in which the administration of the estate of a deceased person by executors of a will is to be regulated under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024.

2. The matter has been examined. Every executor of a will carrying on the administration of the estate of a deceased person shall make an application in Form IV to the Family Court within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the administration of the estate of a deceased person is undertaken, and the Family Court shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
