STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Engineers,

Subject: The irrigation of land from a canal by cultivators of irrigated land under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Law Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the irrigation of land from a canal by cultivators of irrigated land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of irrigated land carrying on the irrigation of land from a canal shall make an application in Form B to the Dam Safety Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Engineer shall ensure that dispute is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Dam Safety Authority within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Rajasthan.
