OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The carriage of goods by road by transport operators under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the carriage of goods by road by transport operators is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958.
2. The matter has been examined. Every transport operator carrying on the carriage of goods by road shall make an application in Form 30 to the Licensing Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carriage of goods by road is undertaken, and the Licensing Authority shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
