STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973 (Puducherry Act 9 of 1973), the Ports Department, Government of Puducherry hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 8 to the State Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Puducherry.
