STANDING ORDER

To

All Probation Officers,

Subject: The management of joint family property by managers of a joint family property under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Finance Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of joint family property by managers of a joint family property.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manager of a joint family property carrying on the management of joint family property shall make an application in Form VI to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Probation Officer shall ensure that account is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
