STANDING ORDER
To
All commanding officers,
Subject: The holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2002), the Home Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of defence land carrying on the holding of defence land on lease shall make an application in Form C to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The commanding officer shall ensure that pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Karnataka.
