STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Marriages,

Subject: The functions of a kazi by kazis under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Labour Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the functions of a kazi by kazis.

2. The matter has been examined. Every kazi carrying on the functions of a kazi shall make an application in Form VI to the District Court within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Registrar of Marriages shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Court within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
