STANDING ORDER

To

All Executive Officers,

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975), the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form A to the Waqf Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Executive Officer shall ensure that register of trusts is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Waqf Tribunal within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
