OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The running of a shelter for the homeless by operators of a shelter for the homeless under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of a shelter for the homeless by operators of a shelter for the homeless is to be regulated under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a shelter for the homeless carrying on the running of a shelter for the homeless shall make an application in Form V to the National Trust within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a shelter for the homeless is undertaken, and the National Trust shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
