OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Uttarakhand on the manner in which the performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests is to be regulated under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall make an application in Form II to the Government of Uttarakhand within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the performance of marriage ceremonies is undertaken, and the Government of Uttarakhand shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
