STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Press Registrars,

Subject: The publication of books by publishers of books under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953 (Maharashtra Act 11 of 1953), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the publication of books by publishers of books.

2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of books carrying on the publication of books shall make an application in Form III to the Press Registrar within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Press Registrar shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Press Registrar within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
