STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: The guiding of tourists by tourist guides under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the guiding of tourists by tourist guides.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tourist guide carrying on the guiding of tourists shall make an application in Form I to the Government of Kerala within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that tourist is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala.
