STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 2 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal.
