STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars,

Subject: The keeping of milch cattle by dairy farmers under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961 (Punjab Act 23 of 1961), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of milch cattle by dairy farmers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dairy farmer carrying on the keeping of milch cattle shall make an application in Form C to the Director of Agriculture within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Registrar shall ensure that society is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Agriculture within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab.
