STANDING ORDER
To
All Circles Inspector of Excise,
Subject: The transport of excisable articles by transporters under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Energy Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of excisable articles by transporters.
2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter carrying on the transport of excisable articles shall make an application in Form C to the Excise Appellate Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that sample is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Appellate Authority within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Punjab.
