OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The provision of access to a public building by owners of a public building under the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats) Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the provision of access to a public building by owners of a public building is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats) Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a public building carrying on the provision of access to a public building shall make an application in Form VII to the Government of Tamil Nadu within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of access to a public building is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
