OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village under the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a rice mill in a village carrying on the running of a rice mill in a village shall make an application in Form 2 to the Zila Parishad within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a rice mill in a village is undertaken, and the Zila Parishad shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
