STANDING ORDER

All Adjutants,

Subject: The holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 (Maharashtra Act 22 of 1951), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of defence land carrying on the holding of defence land on lease shall make an application in Form H to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Adjutant shall ensure that identity card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
