STANDING ORDER

To

All District Child Protection Officers,

Subject: The placement of domestic workers by placement agencies under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1982), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the placement of domestic workers by placement agencies.

2. The matter has been examined. Every placement agency carrying on the placement of domestic workers shall make an application in Form V to the District Magistrate within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The District Child Protection Officer shall ensure that individual care plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Magistrate within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
