STANDING ORDER

To

All District Collectors,

Subject: The construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area under the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985 (Tamil Nadu Act 11 of 1985), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a vulnerable area carrying on the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area shall make an application in Form G to the Relief Commissioner within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The District Collector shall ensure that hazard map is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Relief Commissioner within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
