STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973 (Puducherry Act 9 of 1973), the Finance Department, Government of Puducherry hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Puducherry.
