STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Directors,

Subject: The employment of persons by employers under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1969), the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the employment of persons by employers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer carrying on the employment of persons shall make an application in Form 1 to the Employees' Insurance Court within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Director shall ensure that contribution card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Employees' Insurance Court within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra.
