STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: The operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a houseboat carrying on the operation of a houseboat shall make an application in Form II to the Director of Tourism within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that antiquity is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Tourism within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala.
