OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The scrapping of motor vehicles by scrapping facilities under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the scrapping of motor vehicles by scrapping facilities is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974.
2. The matter has been examined. Every scrapping facility carrying on the scrapping of motor vehicles shall make an application in Form 38 to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the scrapping of motor vehicles is undertaken, and the State Transport Appellate Tribunal shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
